MARDEN  MEDICAL CENTRE PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP

Why Join

"The support we receive from the PPG does make a difference to the care we are able to give our patients but all of their work is carried out by an incredibly willing but small number of volunteers. To facilitate the growth and development of the group it would be lovely to see more active members. Please consider joining."

Marden Medical Centre

By joining the PPG, it can bring significant benefits to both the local and regional health service provision as well as patients themselves. It works for us all. Benefits to patients of getting involved include:
  • Ensures the Practice develops services that meet Marden patient needs and wants
  • Patients can ensure their patient ‘voice’ is represented in local healthcare matters
  • Patients have a ‘safe’ forum to suggest positive ideas and voice any concerns to the Practice
  • Encourages greater health awareness and the promotion of good health & well-being advice
  • Encourages patients to get more involved in the local community, meet new people and develop new skills
  • Improves communications between patients and Practice staff
  • Group members can get involved in practical support for both the Practice and the local community groups e.g. the Marden Come & Sing Group, the Living Memories Café and the Walking Group

Please watch this 2:15 minute video* by Geoff Almond, chair of Mill Street PPG and patient representative on the St Helens CCG, who describes what PPGs are all about and why patients should join.
